ASSIGNMENT 1: Surface Area & Volume

I find this assignment really fun. Actually building a model following the given measurements was not as easy as I thought. In order to complete the task, we must understand the concept of each mathematical theories very well then apply what we know. This task involves lots of trigonometry to find the lengths and angles of the object as well as formulas to find the area and volume of the figures.

Not only we can test our understanding and ability in doing challenging questions by using the 3 mathematical theories we learnt in class: basic algebra, trigonometry and area and volume, we also get to build a model using the fixed measurements and this prepared us for degree next year. In the coming degree, we will be building more complex model using different scales and measurements and applying all the mathematical theories we learn in foundation to solve problems in sketching designs of building and also building model out of it.

ASSIGNMENT 2: Survey

In this assignment, in a group of 5, we were required to do a survey and then make a statistics poster out of it. We chose the topic on eating habits - adults vs. teenagers. At first we did a questionaire and gave it to the lecturer and we picked the final 20 questions only. We went around campus to ask people to fill up the survey and we managed to get 108 surveys in total. We sorted out the surveys in a manner and recorded the data. After that, we did a poster on the eating habits of adults and teenagers.
