In this assignment, we were told to compare 2 businesses of the same industry from different regions of Malaysia and then to make a report out of it. My group which includes 5 members including me, chose the art industry because we as architecture stundents should appreciate art so that we could understand it better. The first art gallery was Penang Malay Artists Association (PMAA) which was located in Penang and our second gallery was Art House Gallery (AHG) which was located in Central Market, Kuala Lumpur. We had to interview the owners and staffs of the galleries to get more information and background about their galleries. With this, I have improved my communicating skills. Not only that, we had to do our own research about the galleries, where I had improved my research methods. As a group of 5, I also have improved my team building skills, time management and many more. Last but not least, I have learned to appreciate art more because many of the people don't know that the art industry is a business too, they not only paint but they also buy paintings and sell them to get profit to maintain their businesses.
