In a group of 8, we were assigned to experience construction by having a site visit on a construction site and explore how low rise buildings are made from foundation until it's finishes. Each of us were given a topic respectively and we had to ask around the contractors for information also doing research about construction. From this assignment, I've discovered a lot of new things about construction which I was very interested in. I've also gained team building skills as we were in a group, communication skills, and many more.
This assignment crosses over with Design Studio II where I had to draw out the significant details about my building such as the superstructures, roof, foundation and connections. After many researches, I've gain a lot of information about detail drawings and specific constructions on a certain part of a building. Not only that, I've also learned how different materials are connected to each other in constructions.
